To the Birth of Christ. From this seed:

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger.”

Mystery so strange and glorious!

A manger instead of the heavens!

The Virgin at the head of the cherubim [victorious],

The throne most high today.

And He lies entirely in the crèche,

Which is too small

For the heaven of heavens.
